Have your say in how OmniBazaar runs — step by step

Category: platform · Updated: August 20, 2026

OmniBazaar is run by its community. Your OmniCoin (XOM) gives you a vote on how the platform changes. Voting takes a few minutes. Here is how, step by step.

Why vote? A proposal is a plan for a change — a fee change, a new feature, or a rule update. Your vote helps decide which of those plans become real. When you vote, you shape the platform you use every day.

Before you start. You need OmniCoin to vote. The more you hold, the stronger your vote. Coins you have staked also count toward your voting power. You do not need to stake to take part.

  1. Open the app and go to Governance. Sign in to OmniBazaar. Tap the Governance section in the menu.
  1. Browse the proposals. Each proposal shows its title, the votes so far, the time left to vote, and your voting power. Skim the list to see what is up for a vote.
  1. Read and join the discussion. Open a proposal to see what it would change. Read what others say. Add your own thoughts. Good decisions come from a real discussion.
  1. Cast your vote. Choose one of three options: For, Against, or Abstain. For means you want the change. Against means you do not. Abstain means you take part but do not pick a side.
  1. Confirm in your wallet. Your wallet asks you to approve the vote. Approve it to send your vote to the network. You pay nothing — voting is free for you.
  1. Watch the result. When the vote ends, you can see the result. A proposal passes only if enough people took part — at least 4% of all votes. That keeps a tiny handful from deciding for everyone.

That is it. Your voice is counted.

Good to know. Today, few people hold the coin, so most proposals still come from the founders. As OmniCoin spreads to more holders, more proposals will come from the community — including from you. The more often you vote, the more the platform reflects what you want.
