Run a Validator and Earn Block Rewards

Category: platform · Updated: August 20, 2026

A validator is a computer that helps run the OmniCoin network. It confirms activity and keeps the network safe. In return, it earns block rewards in OmniCoin. This is the most involved way to earn — and the most committed.

What a validator does

Every network needs computers to check that transactions are real. OmniCoin relies on validators for this. They run on cloud servers and work together to keep the chain moving. When they do their job, the network pays them block rewards.

You do not run a validator from a home computer. It runs on a cloud server that stays online all the time.

What you need

Becoming a validator has three requirements:

  1. Stake at least 1,000,000 XOM. You lock this amount to show you are committed to the network.
  2. A participation score of 50 or higher. This score comes from being an active, trustworthy member of OmniBazaar. It grows as you take part.
  3. Identity verification at Tier 3. We check who you are using Persona, a well-known identity service. This is the highest individual tier — Tier 4 is for businesses only.

The catch, said plainly

This is a serious commitment. The stake is large. The identity check is real. Running a validator is not for everyone. It is for people who want to help run the network and are ready to put real resources behind that.

The requirements exist to protect the network. A validator with a lot to lose is less likely to act badly.

Why people do it

Validators earn block rewards for the work they do. They also help keep OmniCoin — and everyone using OmniBazaar — running well. The role carries both reward and responsibility.

How to start

If you already hold a large amount of XOM and stay active, check your participation score in the app. When you meet all three requirements, you can set up a validator on a cloud server.

Open the app — free, nothing to install.
