Safety and Security Tips
Account Security
- Use a strong, unique password for your OmniBazaar account.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) when available.
- Never share your login credentials with anyone.
- Log out of shared or public devices after use.
Wallet Security
- Back up your seed phrase immediately after wallet creation. Write it on paper and store in a secure, fireproof location. Never store it digitally (screenshots, cloud, email).
- Never share your seed phrase or private keys. OmniBazaar staff will never ask for them.
- Use a hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor) for large holdings.
- Verify recipient addresses carefully before sending tokens. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
Transaction Safety
- Always use the escrow system for marketplace purchases. Never send payment directly to a seller outside escrow.
- Verify transaction details (amount, recipient, fees) before confirming.
- Check seller ratings and reviews before purchasing.
- Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true.
- Keep all communication on-platform for dispute evidence.
Recognizing Scams
- Phishing: Fake emails or websites mimicking OmniBazaar. Always verify the URL.
- Social engineering: Requests for your seed phrase, private keys, or verification codes.
- Fake listings: Extremely low prices, stock photos, or pressure to transact off-platform.
- Impersonation: Users pretending to be OmniBazaar support staff.
