Common questions
Plain answers about buying, selling, fees, getting paid, keeping your money safe and getting help.
General
What is OmniBazaar?
OmniBazaar is a marketplace where people buy and sell directly with each other — no company sits in the middle. You can trade physical goods, digital items, NFTs, and services. It runs on a blockchain (a shared public ledger), and payments are held safely by code until the deal is done (escrow).
How do I start selling on OmniBazaar?
To start selling: 1) Create an account or connect your wallet, 2) Complete an optional identity check (KYC) to unlock higher limits, 3) Click "Create Listing" and fill in product details, 4) Set your price in XOM or other supported coins, 5) Publish your listing to the public ledger (the blockchain).
What fees does OmniBazaar charge?
OmniBazaar charges 1% on a completed sale, paid by the seller: 0.50% referral, 0.25% transaction and 0.25% listing. Creating a listing itself costs nothing — the listing share is part of that 1% and only applies if the item actually sells. Buyers pay no platform fee. An optional priority fee (0–3%) is available if you want your listing shown more prominently.
Buying
How do I buy items on OmniBazaar?
Browse listings, click on items you want, review seller ratings and details, then click "Buy Now" or "Make Offer". Your payment is held safely until you confirm you received the item (escrow).
Can I use traditional payment methods?
You can buy XOM with a credit card or bank transfer through our partners, so you don't need to own cryptocurrency already. Most of OmniBazaar runs on cryptocurrency, and we're adding more regular-money options in supported regions.
How does buyer protection work?
Your payment is held safely until delivery is confirmed (escrow, enforced by code). If a problem comes up, community referees (arbitrators) resolve the dispute fairly.
Selling
What can I sell on OmniBazaar?
You can sell physical goods, digital products, NFTs, and services. All listings must comply with local laws and platform guidelines.
What are the listing requirements?
Give buyers a clear description, accurate photos, an honest note about condition, and a reasonable price. You can't list illegal goods, stolen property, or anything that violates someone else's intellectual property rights.
What are the seller fees?
Sellers pay a 1% fee on completed transactions (0.50% referral + 0.25% transaction + 0.25% listing). There are no upfront listing fees.
Payments
What cryptocurrencies are accepted?
OmniBazaar accepts XOM (its native token), plus AVAX, USDC, USDT, and other major cryptocurrencies on the OmniCoin network.
How are buyers and sellers protected (escrow)?
You don't have to trust the person on the other end. When a buyer pays, the payment is held automatically by code (escrow). The seller gets the money only when: 1) the buyer confirms they received the item and are satisfied, 2) delivery is confirmed by tracking, or 3) the escrow period ends with no dispute raised. Both sides are protected from fraud.
How do I withdraw my earnings?
Your earnings are available as soon as the held payment is released to you (escrow release). Go to your wallet and withdraw to any compatible address. Network fees (gas) apply.
Security
How do I keep my account secure?
For the strongest security, use a hardware wallet (a small device that holds your keys offline). Turn on two-step login (2FA) if available. Never share your private keys or recovery phrase. Always check the details before you confirm a transaction.
How do disputes get resolved?
If a deal goes wrong, you get a hearing. Community referees (arbitrators) review the evidence from both sides and vote on the outcome. Code then carries out their decision automatically (a smart contract). Referees earn XOM for fair rulings.
How do I become an arbitrator?
Anyone can volunteer — there's no application or approval step. You need a participation score of 50+, identity verification (KYC Tier 3), and to stake at least 10,000 XOM into the referee pool. Open your account menu and choose "Arbitration Judge," then stake and register — it's a single on-chain transaction.
Could a referee earn more by ruling for the buyer or the seller?
No. The 5% arbitration fee is fixed the moment a dispute is opened, before any referee has reviewed evidence or voted. 70% of it is split evenly among the three assigned referees regardless of which way each of them rules; the rest goes to a shared platform pool, not to any referee. No referee has a financial reason to favor either side.
Do I need an identity check (KYC)?
No — basic buying and selling needs no identity check (KYC). Verified users do get higher transaction limits, extra features, and better trust scores. Identity checks are handled by a network of independent verifiers, not one company, to protect your privacy.
XOM Token
What is XOM token?
OmniCoin (XOM) is OmniBazaar's own currency. You use it to pay, to earn rewards by locking it up (staking), and to vote on platform decisions. Holders get fee discounts and a say in how the platform runs.
How can I earn XOM tokens?
Earn XOM by: selling items (buyers pay you in XOM), locking up XOM for rewards (staking), voting on platform decisions (governance), inviting new users, running a listings node, or running a validator computer.
What do I get for staking XOM?
Locking up your XOM (staking) gives you: fee discounts (up to 50% off), voting rights on platform decisions, rewards (the yearly rate varies), priority support, and access to special features.
DEX
What is the OmniBazaar DEX?
The OmniBazaar DEX (Decentralized Exchange) is a built-in trading platform that lets you swap tokens and trade spot markets — plus compare perpetual futures from partner venues, right from your OmniBazaar account. It uses a hybrid order book and AMM (Automated Market Maker) model to provide deep liquidity and tight spreads without relying on a centralized exchange.
What order types are available on the DEX?
The DEX supports Market, Limit, Stop, Stop-Limit, OCO (One-Cancels-Other), Iceberg, TWAP (Time-Weighted Average Price), and VWAP (Volume-Weighted Average Price) orders. This gives you professional-grade trading tools whether you're placing a simple swap or executing a complex trading strategy.
How do perpetual futures work on OmniBazaar?
OmniBazaar does not offer its own perpetual futures. Where futures markets appear in the app they belong to other venues and are shown so you can compare them; any trade happens on that venue, under that venue's terms, leverage and liquidation rules. If we ever launch our own, we will publish the full terms and the countries it is available in before it goes live.
What are the DEX trading fees?
You pay 0.20% when your order fills against one already on the book. Post an order that someone else trades against and you earn a 0.05% rebate instead. Of what's collected, 70% goes to the people supplying liquidity (the LP Pool), 20% to OmniBazaar, and 10% to the Protocol Treasury. If someone referred you, your fills cost an extra 0.05%, split 70% to your referrer, 20% to theirs, and 10% to OmniBazaar.
What are privacy swaps?
Privacy swaps convert between XOM and pXOM (Private OmniCoin) using COTI V2 multi-party computation, so the amounts are encrypted and only you can read them. Your wallet address is still visible on-chain. Shielding and unshielding are strictly 1:1 and OmniBazaar charges nothing for them — we earn on private trades, never on the privacy itself.
Real World Assets
What are Real World Assets (RWAs) on OmniBazaar?
Real World Assets are tokenized representations of physical assets like real estate, commodities, fine art, or collectibles. On OmniBazaar, you can buy and sell fractional ownership in these assets, making investments that were previously accessible only to wealthy investors available to everyone.
Are real-world assets legal where I live?
Every real-world asset listing shows you the compliance information for your jurisdiction, so you can see which rules apply before you buy. Listings have to follow local securities regulations. Backing that up: KYC verification for RWA traders, geographic restrictions that are enforced, accredited investor verification where it's required, and transparent audit trails.
How do I trade RWAs on OmniBazaar?
Open the real-world assets section from the Crypto Exchange area. You can search by asset type and read valuations and legal documentation side by side. OmniBazaar is an aggregator here, not a broker: when you decide to invest we hand you to the platform that issues the asset, and the purchase, custody and paperwork all happen there under its terms. Availability depends on where you live.
How are RWA prices determined?
You're never taking one source's word for a price. Prices come from multiple independent price feeds and valuation sources, pulled together by the Oracle Aggregator service. Real estate prices include comparable sales data and professional appraisals. Commodities use spot market prices. Anything that looks out of line gets flagged for human review.
Can I buy a fraction of an RWA?
Yes. Most RWAs on OmniBazaar are fractionalized into smaller units, letting you invest with as little as a few dollars worth of XOM. Fractional owners receive proportional returns from any income the asset generates, such as rental income from real estate or dividends from business ownership.
Yield
What are yield programs on OmniBazaar?
Yield programs let you earn passive income on your crypto holdings. OmniBazaar aggregates opportunities from DEX liquidity pools, staking programs, and lending protocols. You can compare annual percentage yields (APY), risk levels, and lock-up periods across all available programs from one dashboard.
What's the difference between yield farming and staking?
Staking locks your XOM to secure the network and earn 5-12% APR based on amount and duration. Yield farming involves providing liquidity to DEX trading pairs or lending protocols, which can offer higher returns but carries impermanent loss risk. Both are available on OmniBazaar, and you can use both simultaneously with different portions of your holdings.
Does OmniBazaar stake on my behalf?
No. OmniBazaar staking is solo: you stake your own XOM directly to the StakingRewardPool contract from your own wallet, and rewards accrue to your address. There is no third-party validator delegation service, no shared pool that someone else operates, and no intermediary that holds your stake on your behalf. If you want to run a validator, you do so yourself by meeting the validator requirements (KYC Tier 3, 1,000,000 XOM stake, validator infrastructure).
What are the risks of yield programs?
You can lose money. The main risks are impermanent loss (when the token prices in a liquidity pool drift apart), smart contract risk (though our contracts are audited), and market swings that change what your rewards are worth. Before you commit, you'll see a risk rating on every yield opportunity, and you can filter by the risk you're willing to take. Higher yield programs generally carry higher risk.
How and when are yield rewards distributed?
Staking rewards are distributed proportionally from the block reward pool (up to 50% of each block's 15.6 XOM reward). DEX liquidity rewards are distributed continuously as trades occur. You can claim accumulated rewards at any time from the yield dashboard, or enable auto-compounding to reinvest rewards automatically.
Can I withdraw from yield programs at any time?
Flexible staking and most liquidity pools allow withdrawal at any time. Time-locked staking (1 month, 6 months, or 2 years) offers bonus APR but applies an early withdrawal penalty if you exit before the commitment period ends. Always check the lock-up terms before depositing.
Predictions
What are prediction markets on OmniBazaar?
Prediction markets let you buy and sell positions on the outcomes of future events, such as cryptocurrency price movements, protocol governance votes, or real-world events. Each market has binary or multi-outcome shares that pay out based on the actual result. It's a way to express your view on likely outcomes and potentially profit from accurate predictions.
How do prediction markets work?
Each market has shares representing possible outcomes (e.g., 'Yes' and 'No'). Share prices range from $0 to $1 and reflect the market's consensus probability. If you buy 'Yes' shares at $0.30 and the event occurs, each share pays out $1.00, giving you a $0.70 profit per share. If the event doesn't occur, your shares expire worthless.
How are prediction markets resolved?
No single party decides whether you won. Outcomes are verified against multiple trusted data sources through the Oracle Aggregator. For on-chain events, resolution is automatic. For real-world events, designated oracles submit the outcome and validators verify it by consensus. If you think a result is wrong, you can escalate it to community arbitration.
Are there any limits on prediction market participation?
Position limits depend on your KYC verification tier. Tier 0 users can participate with smaller position sizes, while fully verified users (Tier 3+) have no limits. Prediction market participation follows the same transaction limits as other marketplace activities. Markets involving regulated events may have geographic restrictions.
What fees apply to prediction markets?
Prediction markets use a dynamic fee based on outcome probability. The fee rate ranges from 0.50% to 2.00%, with the formula: rate = 7% x P x (1-P). At 50/50 odds the fee is ~1.75%; near-certain outcomes (P > 0.90) pay as little as 0.63%. There is no settlement fee. All fees are split 70% OmniBazaar / 20% Staking Pool / 10% Protocol. The exact fee is shown before you confirm any trade.
Incentives
What is the Welcome Bonus?
Join early and you can receive up to 10,000 XOM for finishing basic verification: email, phone, and a social media follow. The amount goes down as more users join. The first 1,000 users get 10,000 XOM each, the next 9,000 get 5,000 XOM, and so on. One bonus per person.
How does the referral program work?
Every user gets a unique referral link. When someone signs up through your link and makes their first purchase, you earn a Referral Signing Bonus (up to 2,500 XOM for early referrals). After that you earn 70% of the 0.50% referral fee on every purchase your referral makes, and if your referral refers someone, you earn 20% of their referral fees as a second-level bonus. The fee is always paid by the seller, so referring someone never costs them anything.
What is the First Sale Bonus?
When you create your first listing and complete your first sale, you earn a First Sale Bonus of up to 500 XOM (amount decreases as more sellers join the platform). This one-time bonus encourages sellers to list real products and complete genuine transactions. The system distinguishes between actual sales and simple fund transfers.
What do I get for staking XOM?
You earn 5% to 12% a year on the XOM you stake. The base rate runs from 5% (under 1M XOM) to 9% (over 1B XOM), and committing for two years adds up to 3% more. You also get fee discounts on marketplace transactions, voting rights on governance, and priority support. Your staked XOM is put to work providing DEX liquidity.
What is a Participation Score and why does it matter?
Your Participation Score (0-100 points) measures your overall contribution to the OmniBazaar ecosystem. It's calculated from KYC level (up to 20 pts), marketplace reputation (up to 10 pts), staking amount and duration (up to 24 pts), referrals (up to 10 pts), listing activity (up to 4 pts), forum participation (up to 5 pts), and more. A score of 50+ qualifies you to run a validator node, and higher scores increase your earning potential.
Wallet
What is the OmniBazaar Wallet?
You can hold and move money across 80+ blockchains from one place, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Polkadot, and all major EVM chains. It's built into OmniBazaar. Your keys are created with BIP39 HD wallet technology, and you can connect a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor) for maximum security.
How secure is the OmniBazaar Wallet?
The wallet uses industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption for stored data, timing attack protection for key operations, secure memory wipe for sensitive data after use, anti-phishing protection, and comprehensive transaction validation. Private keys never leave your device. For additional security, connect a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor.
How do I recover my wallet if I lose access?
When you create your wallet, you receive a 12 or 24-word recovery phrase (seed phrase). Store this phrase securely offline. It can restore your wallet and all accounts on any compatible device. Never share your seed phrase with anyone, and never enter it on a website. OmniBazaar staff will never ask for your seed phrase.
How does multi-chain support work?
Your single wallet derives addresses for all supported chains from one seed phrase. You can hold ETH, BTC, SOL, DOT, XOM, and tokens on 80+ blockchains simultaneously. The wallet automatically detects the correct network for each transaction and can bridge assets between chains using the built-in cross-chain bridge.
Can I use my existing wallet with OmniBazaar?
Yes. OmniBazaar supports connecting external wallets like MetaMask, WalletConnect-compatible wallets, and hardware wallets. You can use your existing wallet for transactions while still accessing all marketplace, DEX, and platform features. The 'Connect Wallet' button in the navigation supports all major wallet providers.
