Keep your crypto safe from scams and thieves
Your money is yours. You hold it, and only you can move it. But that also
means the bad guys want to trick you into handing it over. A few simple
habits keep you safe.
The one rule that never changes
Never share your recovery phrase. Not with friends, not with family, and
not with us.
OmniBazaar support will never ask for it. Anyone who asks for your
recovery phrase is trying to steal from you. There is no legitimate reason
for a real company to ask.
Use a strong password
Your wallet unlocks with a password. Make it long and unique. Do not reuse
a password you use elsewhere.
If your device supports it, turn on biometric login — a fingerprint or
face scan. It is fast and much harder for someone else to fake.
Learn to spot a scam
Most theft does not come from hackers breaking code. It comes from a
convincing lie. Here are three to watch for.
Fake websites. A scammer builds a page that looks like ours but has a
slightly different address. Always check the address is app.omnibazaar.com.
Bookmark it and use the bookmark.
Fake support. Someone messages you pretending to be support and asks
for your recovery phrase or password. Real support never asks. We contact
you; we do not send links that ask for your words.
Too good to be true. "Send me 100 XOM and I'll send back 500." "Guaranteed
returns." "Free money if you act now." These are always scams. Real markets
do not promise risk-free returns.
If something feels wrong
Stop. Do not click. Do not enter your phrase. Close the page.
You can report suspicious users inside the app. Reporting helps protect
everyone else too.
The catch, said plainly
You are the only person who can move your money. That is the whole point.
It also means there is no customer-service button that can undo a mistake
or reverse a theft. Your safety is in your habits, and the habits above are
all you need.
Your next step
Open the app — free, nothing to install. Then take one minute to turn on
biometric login and double-check your recovery phrase is safe on paper.
